    氯代三苯基四氮唑（triphenyltetrazolium chloride，TTC），也稱紅四氮唑（Red tetrazoline，RT）。可用來測定種子活力，被種子中的還原性物質（脫氫酶）還原為紅色的TTF，從而使活種子胚著上紅色而胚乳不被染色。而死 種子*不被染色。 
     　　1. 浸泡 將待測種子在 30 ～ 35 ℃溫水中浸種（大麥、小麥 6 小時，玉米 5 小時左右），以增強種胚的呼吸作用。 2. 顯色 取吸脹的種子 200 粒，用刀片沿種子胚的中心線縱切為兩半，將其中的一半置于 2 只培養皿中，每皿 100 個半粒，加入適量的 0.5% 溶液，以覆蓋種子為度。然后置于 30 ℃恒溫箱中 1 h 。觀察結果，凡胚被染為紅色的是活種子。 將另一半在沸水中煮 5 min 殺死胚，作同樣染色處理，作為對照觀察。 3. 計算活種子的百分率
